thanks everyone..

Sarah your system seems like a fair way to cover it with the invigilators taking some responsibility for it.

Subject: Re: Invigilator DBS / 12 week break in service

We have lots of invigilators who don’t work for us from July – May. After the initial DBS runs out in year one, we sign them all up to the DBS update service. They are responsible for checking their emails and making sure they renew every year at a cost of approx. £13 per year that the college reimburses.

If they let it lapse, they have to pay for a new DBS check.

We find this works really well.

Kind regards

Subject: Invigilator DBS / 12 week break in service

Afternoon everyone,

I have recently been informed by the HR department that casual staff (invigilators) who have a 12 week break in service, must have a new DBS at a cost of £44.00 per application.

Whilst our invigilators work regularly October-June, the break July - September causes us a problem.

How does your centre manage this?
