Dear colleagues

Following on from my email last month about collaborating with the Equality Trust on some work around pay inequality I had a great response from colleagues across a number of universities.

Following discussions between usĀ  over the last few weeks we thought it would be good to bring people together to start to play some collaborative practical and collaborative work in this area in advance of the anniversary of the Equal Pay Act in 2020.

As such we have now have a confirmed London venue for a national day-long conference on equal pay on 29 May. The conference is being organised by the Equality Trust, and a number of other partners (as yet to be announced) to initiate a year of action running up to the 50th anniversary of the Equal Pay Act which will be on 29 May 2020.

The target audience will be any 'players' with an interest in seeking to see real progress in advance of the 50th anniversary, including: academics, women's groups, trade unions, regulators, ethical consumers, engaged shareholders, model employers, and politicians.

Full details are to be announced, but do get the date in your diary, and you can register interest in attending, and share your ideas about potential content of the day here: https://goo.gl/forms/1w1dZANj40G9F19y2

It would also be great if you could cascade this notification onto colleagues, and appropriate networks and do please get in contact if you have any ideas of contributions you might like to have included on the day.

Best wishes

Jane
