Dear Ying

Does the DCM analysis depend on the spatial locations of VOI? That is, does DCM take consideration of the spatial coordinates of voxels in VOIs into consideration in the process of model fitting? If yes, how?

No, DCM for fMRI does not take into account space – it is a model of timeseries.

Besides, will the DCM results be affected seriously if we don't conduct spatial normalization in the preprocessing stage?

No.

I extracted VOIs for DCM by picking out the most activated voxels for each subject separately in spheres. And our data need not be normalized to standard templates because we don't do group analysis on activity. Will this affect DCM?

That’s fine.
