Those of you interested in the ways that we can engage more girls in STEM might like the event that Ada Lovelace Day and Clarivate Analytics are hosting at Microsoft Reactor at 5pm on Friday 8 March. 

IWD: Shifting the balance in STEM is a panel discussion exploring how we get more women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). We'll be exploring how to get more girls into STEM at a younger age, the many and various different STEM career paths that are open to girls, gender bias and the influence of toys, being a woman in STEM, and how we shift the balance. Our speakers are:
  • Yasmin Ali, Chemical engineer, WES1919 Young Woman Engineer 2013 and one of the BBC Expert Voices
  • Allison Gardner, Co-Founder at Women Leading in AI, Member IEEE P7003 Algorithmic Bias, Head of Foundation Year Science/Teaching Fellow Bioinformatics at Keele University
  • Liz Seward, Senior Strategist - Space Systems at Airbus
  • Timo Hannay, founder of SchoolDash
  • Filippo Yacob, Founder and CEO of Primo and Pigzbe, Forbes 30 Under 30
Our moderator for the evening is Nandita Quaderi, Editor-in-Chief, Web of Science Group.

The event will take place at the Microsoft Reactor (70 Wilson Street, London, UK) from 5-7pm on Friday 8th March.
