The Kinetic Science Foundation is a Charity based in mid Suffolk
We are looking to expand our team and we are looking for more inspired communicators. This may suit someone looking for a position around another job or as a student, or someone who needs a part-time position.

SCIENCE EDUCATORS, COMMUNICATORS AND PRESENTERS
Job Role:
To Assist or Lead with a project to deliver Science Roadshows and workshops for Primary School children, High School Children, their families and the general public.

Duties:
* Be able to assist and sometimes lead, science demonstrations, workshops and assist with classroom worksheet production on scientific topics.

* There will be outreach into Primary and Secondary schools all over Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex which will include lifting some heavy exhibits in and out of vehicles and helping to set up experiments and exhibits.

* There will be three bases for the Science Project in the Bury St. Edmunds area where the children will come along in large numbers for a science Roadshow. This would mean assisting demonstrations of science experiments on a stage to large numbers of children. With confidence in the subject it is hoped that the candidate may be able to lead these events in the future.

* You must be able to communicate well with teachers, parents/carers and more importantly the children. It would be ideal if you are able to carry out Risk Assessments and be very Safety Aware. If you are not trained in any of these elements then training will be given. .

* A knowledge of science is not essential as this will be learnt on the job, but a enjoyment of working with children is essential. It is making science seem interesting and fun to the audience so a lively person will help to convey this.

* Initially this will be a part time role and could lead to full time in the future.
* This position will include some weekend and evening working and sometimes working as a team and sometimes on their own.

Skills/Qualifications:
Would possibly suit someone with a background of teaching or being in a classroom environment before and someone who has worked with primary aged children. Must be well organised, willing to travel throughout East Anglia, able to help at events and fundraising events. Looking for a position that could turn into a career or this would suit someone who is looking for extra hours to fit around a present position. Good verbal communication skills are essential and a love of Science would be good. Professionalism and promoting the Charity at all times are essential.
