Dear All, I am concerned thgat we are over diagnosing diabetes in pregnant women and as a practitioner I have found a wide range of guidelines for risk factors, diagnosis and treatment at every stage. I remember Henci Goer's work on this when it was very much a minority issue - now it seems that a huge number of women are thus labelled. So much so that our trust has decided to use "diabetic" women to tick the continuity box at least for the next year or two. I presume because they are nearly all induced at 38 weeks or el LSCS in our trust.
