Dear List members We are advertising a research fellow position at the Department of Earth Science, University of Bergen within the field of 3D geodynamic modeling of rift formation linked with surface processes. The candidate will be part of a large research team involving 8 research fellows that explore the interaction of rift-passive margin and orogenic systems and their interaction with surface processes using numerical modeling and observations from selected well-constrained cases. The position is for a period of two years and is affiliated to the collaborative project, “Coupling Lithosphere Deformation with Surface Processes and Stratigraphy (COLORS)” involving the universities of Bergen, Toulouse, Grenoble, GFZ, Barcelona, Rennes, and Total. The successful candidate will be responsible for adapting and applying 3D tectonic and surface process models. The main focus will be on using coupled forward 3D tectonic-surface process models to understand interaction and feedback of continental rifting and surface processes in extensional settings such as the East African rift, Central Greece, and Gulf of Suez. The successful applicant will mainly be based at the Department of Earth Science, University of Bergen, working with Ritske Huismans. Extended secondments at the University of Toulouse, France (D.
