METHODS X FIELDWORK STREAM EVENT, Wednesday 10 April 2019 10.30 am to 2 pm:, University of Manchester, Williamson Building room

Book a place here - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/methods-x-fieldwork-stream-event-tickets-56873121036

This event considers the practice, methods, ethics and politics of using fieldwork to collect data. Fieldwork is understood in its broadest sense from semi-structured interviews to long term participant-observation. Fieldwork can be mentally or physically challenging and exhilarating in equal measure, as well as throwing up dilemmas that even the best methods textbooks cannot predict or provide solutions to. This event is the first in a series of fieldwork events organised by Methods North West<http://www.methodsnorthwest.ac.uk/fieldwork/> and will enable you to debate fieldwork approaches, dynamics and dilemmas arising from different disciplines.

FOR WHO: Any doctoral student or early career researcher at Keele University, Lancaster University, University of Liverpool and the University of Manchester. Attendance is compulsory for all NWSSDTP<https://nwssdtp.ac.uk/> ESRC-funded students who signed up for the fieldwork stream<http://www.methodsnorthwest.ac.uk/fieldwork/>.
