This role will support and develop all aspects of the work of the newly developed archive, with a particular focus on creating a brand catalogue and managing the cataloguing process.

 

Reporting to the Head of Brand Development – The Macallan, key responsibilities for this role include:

 

·         Create and manage when necessary, the comprehensive cataloguing for The Macallan Brand Archive

·         To implement the appraisal and weeding of these collections

·         Share the outcomes of the cataloguing function to management and other colleagues as required

·         Responsible for cataloguing project administration, reporting, and evaluation monthly

·         Utilise cataloguing of the brand archive to directly support other operational and brand marketing requirements

·         Responsible for implementing the project plan to help manage archive systems and procedures

·         Ensure the preservation requirements of different types of media and the need for conservation of specific fragile elements of the collections are implemented

·         Manage projects to digitise material from the collections and be responsible for maintaining appropriate image metadata

·         Responsible for the archive enquiry service and assist with facilitating and supervising internal research visits as and when required

 

The successful applicant will be a qualified Archive and Information Management professional with experience of managing complex archive cataloguing projects, and using cataloguing software systems.

 

You will have strong communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships. Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
