Dear List Members,

I would be grateful to hear about publications providing measurements (L & B, or just L) for charred flax seeds from Roman or Late Iron Age sites, preferably where at least 10 seeds have been measured.

Mikael Larsson has kindly already sent me his very interesting paper (Veg. Hist. Archaeobot. 22 (2013)) which provides dimensions from sites in Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and Italy.

I would like to compare the data with measurements from 70 seeds recovered from an early Roman coastal midden in Kent (south-east England), as the seeds from this site appear to be relatively small (averaging 3.11mm long) with a narrow apical end.
