Good morning all,

I manage a relatively small library which has historically used bar-codes to uniquely identify individual stock items. Recently we moved to a new LMS which didn't support bar-code scanning: we have continued to use bar-codes because it's what we're used to, but they seem superfluous and costly now we're just typing in the number.

I'm wondering if there are any libraries out there who have a system for unique identification that isn't a bar-code, and whether it's something you need to procure or just made up for yourselves?

Many thanks in advance,
