ARLG North East Visit to the St Peter’s Library, Prospect Building at the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at the University of Sunderland

Cost: The visit is free, although you will need to make your own travel arrangements
How to get there: information on getting there and parking https://www.sunderland.ac.uk/help/contact-us/ . The nearest metro is St Peter’s 0.3 miles away. Bus services stop at the campus and close by.
About the facility: The St Peter’s Library opened in 1994 and the Prospect building underwent a refurbishment to accommodate/student facing services Student Journey in 2018 with additional group study facilities. The library contains the Business, Computing, Education, Engineering, History, Languages, Law, Literature, Media, Social Sciences and Tourism collections. The Academic Liaison team provides high quality professional library services to the University’s learning, teaching and research community with a focus on leading and managing relationships with Faculties by delivering teaching, learning and research support to staff and students; developing library collections and providing a key interface between the service and its customers. .Study skills advisers work alongside the Academic Liaison team in delivering skills sessions for students.
There will be a tour of the library including student-facing Gateway services eg Careers and the opportunity to ask staff questions. If you have a particular area of interest let us know as we would like this to be a sharing event.
Refreshments will be available to buy at a number of cafes on site.
