Dear Matthew,

I got around the original "Unable to satisfy request for memory" BET error by first saving the dti.nii file as a different name (e.g., dti_copy.nii) using fslview_deprecated. After that, I was able to run BET on FSL6 even though my data was still 4D. The brain mask BET created with my 4D data looks better than the brain mask it created using the fslroi command suggested in the earlier post to Silas (i.e., on the file that had only the first volume from dti.nii).

I cannot find a difference in the header info between the original dti.nii file that generated the BET error and the dti_copy.nii file that did not generate the error.

Any idea what the "save as" step is doing to please FSL6 BET?

Regards,
Christine
