Hi Martha
I just wondered if you had approached one of the universities which teach Illustration to discuss collaborating to produce some books.. They might like the chance to present a real-life task as a student assignment. I notice that neither Newcastle nor Northumbria Uni teach Illustration - my daughter is studying the subject at Uni at the moment. She is a member of a very international class of students with a wide range of styles of art, who would produce a wide variety of different images in response to a text, which could be interesting.
Just a thought!

Since 2010 creative writer Margaret Wilkinson and I have been working with creative writing postgrads from whom it's not too difficult to get engaging narratives for 100-400-word fiction books for our readership, migrant adults learning to read for the first time, in English. It is very difficult to find talented artists to contribute their work for images for these books.
