I was working on this over the weekend – the deadline is this Thursday (but I’m really busy from now till then so major rewrites are fine but – if required – will have to be written by others
😊 )
As discussed before, the only options we have for submission are nominations for ‘Individuals’ or ‘Organisation’. I’ve therefore submitted as Jisc but clarified that we were merely the facilitating organisation leading a much wider steering
group – with the relevant organisations named in the first section.
I’ve sent it round a colleague here to look at and her main comments were around impact – so any numbers you can give me would be great. For example:
- From a library perspective,
- How many staff or students will have a better idea of what accessibility looks like as a result of participating in the Aspire project?
- How many supplier conversations (or what level of business spending) will now be predicated around quality accessibility information.
- How many ebook downloads take place in a typical year?
- How many staff or students will have a better idea of what accessibility looks like as a result of participating in the Aspire project?
- From a supplier perspective,
- Have you improved your accessibility statement as a result of participating in the audit?
- Has the process helped raise awareness within your organisation? What impact might that have on your end users?
- Has the process influenced your other conversations in the supply chain?
- How many end users access your system or your products?
- Have you improved your accessibility statement as a result of participating in the audit?
If you have time to skim over this today or tomorrow morning I’d be grateful. I’ll assume that no news means you’re happy but feel free to improve it. Inevitably it has a Jisc flavour because it needs to reflect the nominated organisation.
A final point – at the moment it will be Jisc nominating Jisc. It might be a stronger application if someone else wanted to submit it on Jisc’s behalf – it would just involve copying and pasting the appropriate content from the final Word
doc into the form (perhaps with a minor tweak of wording here and there) – let me know if anyone has the time/inclination?
