Suffolk County Council (Suffolk Record Office) and the University of Suffolk have formed a partnership to deliver an exciting new heritage facility called
The Hold. More than just a building, The Hold is an engine driving the countywide transformation of the Record Office into an Archive Service for the 21st Century. The project has successfully attracted support from the Heritage Lottery
Fund and we are in the Delivery Phase.
We require a Freelance Conservator, familiar with the operation of passive strongrooms, to support us from May 2019 – end of July 2020. Some of the work will be associated
with the preparation for and the digitisation of maps and documents supporting the delivery of our countywide Activity Plan. The remainder of the time will be spent on preparations for and the movement of collections into
The Hold.
