Dear all, We have a number of fully funded faculty PhD scholarships on offer for the 2018/19 academic year in the department of Mathematics and Statistics at Lancaster University. https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/maths/study/phd/#d.en.352671 Research in statistics at Lancaster is focussed at the interface of methodology and application. The department offers the opportunity to study for a research degree in any of the areas of interest of our staff members. The potential areas of research include Extremes, Time Series, Computational Statistics, Functional Data Analysis, Robust Estimation in Finance, Statistical Learning, Medical and Social Statistics. In addition, several funded PhD projects are available in the areas of Data Science and Environmental Science. Details of our research areas may be found on our research pages and staff welcome direct contact to discuss possible projects. Lancaster is also home to the STOR-i Statistics and Operational Research Centre for Doctoral Training and is a participant in the North West Doctoral Training Centre.
