Postdoctoral Position in Sleep & Brain Function

Institution: University of California, Berkeley

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Center for Human Sleep Science (under the directorship of Prof. Matt Walker) at the University of California, Berkeley.

The position focuses on several of the center’s research programs investigating human sleep and brain function. The position *requires* a candidate with a combination of methodological skills: EEG, fMRI. Candidates should therefore have a PhD background in neuroscience or cognitive science, and experience with sleep, and strong computational and analytical skills in neuroimaging work as a must. Proficiency in the above methods, as well as programming languages (MATLAB, Python) is essential, as well as strong statistical modelling and writing skills. Additionally, the candidate should have good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment.

The position is available immediately, although the start date is somewhat negotiable; the length of the position will be two years with the possibility for extension.

Interested applicants should email Matt Walker ([log in to unmask]); please include a CV with a brief description of your research interests, a brief paragraph description of why you feel you are a fit for this specific position, and a brief paragraph description of your career goals. Additional information about the laboratory is available at: www.humansleepscience.com
