Hi everyone,

We’ve got a job for a freelancer/consultant based in the Republic of Ireland, with extensive relationship management expertise, strategic skills and a passion to see physics flourish in Ireland. It would be an exciting mix of strategy, work with our membership, as well as public engagement programming.

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and influential interim ‘Irish National Manager’ to manage relationships, provide strategic insight and scope out the Institute’s business plan for the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The role

This is an exciting role that will play an integral part in achieving IOP’s ambitious new strategy to ensure a strong and diverse physics work force across the UK and Ireland. This is a leadership role expected to liaise with key stakeholders in the physics community as well as externally and to explore where the IOP can achieve the greatest strategic impact in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The post-holder will be required to define the IOP’s business plan and programme of work needed to implement organisational strategy as well as identify the resources and appropriate permanent staff structure required to deliver.

The Person

We are looking for a pro-active individual with proven leadership skills and effective communication who is able to influence others, innovate and create impact. Experience of developing successful working relationships and implementing business plans and organisational strategy is essential. We require a hands-on team player who can co-operate, lead and inspire others to achieve a common goal, is a fast learner, customer focused and has the functional/technical skills required to perform the role at a high level.

Why work with us?

We are a charitable membership organisation with a worldwide membership from enthusiastic amateurs to those at the top of their sector in academia, business, education and government.

Our purpose is to gather, inspire, guide, represent and celebrate all who share a passion for physics. And, in our role as a charity, we’re here to ensure that physics delivers on its exceptional potential to benefit society.

Johanna
