Why Rachael Low Matters.
In 1948 the first volume of
The History of the British Film was published, written by Rachael Low and Roger Manvell. A further six volumes by Low followed. Now largely forgotten, this first major historian of British cinema is discussed by our expert panel:
Ian Christie,
Luke McKernan and
Sarah Street, concluding with a BFI Special Collections presentation by
Nathalie Morris, chaired by
Elaine Burrows. Presented in association with
Women’s Film and History Network UK/Ireland. 10th December. 18.30pm. £6.50. A BFI Reuben Library
event. Details and booking https://whatson.bfi.org.uk/Online/whyrachaellowmatters
