Colleagues,

The School of Creative Industries at Bath Spa University requires an
Associate Lecturer to teach a number of seminars on our BA Media
Communications <https://www.bathspa.ac.uk/courses/ug-media-communications/>
programme, commencing on Monday 18 February 2019 and running until the end
of May 2019. Specifically, the role is to teach three 2-hour seminars per
week on a second-year core module titled Promotional Media, followed by
marking of paper-based research assignments. All teaching materials will be
provided, including seminar plans. The teaching will be based at our Newton
Park campus <https://www.bathspa.ac.uk/be-bath-spa/campuses/newton-park/>.

About the Module:
Examining the role of promotional media materials such as trailers,
interstitials, reviewers, PR agencies, branded leisure attractions and the
type of online user-generated content circulating between and beyond the
main media texts of the media industries, this module investigates the role
of such promotional media on informing aspects of reception and fandom
amongst contemporary audiences. Module topics include: models of
entertainment advertising, media branding, Hollywood and cross-promotion
(e.g. merchandise, theme parks attractions), trailers and TV spots, and
social media marketing.

Going forward, there is the potential to extend and increase this Associate
Lecturer role into the following academic year, pending budget approval.

Those interested in the role should kindly send a CV alongside a short
letter outlining your interest and any relevant teaching experience to
Matthew Freeman ([log in to unmask]) by no later than Friday 11
January 2019.

Best,
Matt
