Subject: [London/KSSLKS] Free CPD visit to British Dental Association Library and Museum 18/12/18 - few spaces remaining, book now!

The London, Kent, Surrey & Sussex Staff Development Group (Health Education England, working across London & Kent, Surrey and Sussex) have organised the next free CPD library visit. More information can be found below. These visits are a great opportunity to develop your knowledge about librarianship. For those working on CILIP Chartership or similar, the visit will help you to explore your wider library, information and knowledge sector context.

British Dental Association Library and Museum, British Dental Association, 64 Wimpole Street, London W1G 8YS
Tuesday 18th December, 2.00 - 4.00pm. https://www.bda.org/library

The visit will start with coffee and biscuits in the ground floor boardroom. There will be a guided talk around the museum exhibits with the opportunity to extract a tooth, try out a treadle drill and view a painting by Sir John Lavery. We will watch a film made by George Cunningham<http://bda.247lib.com/bdalib/frmDownload.aspx?ID=38540&CATTAG_AUTH_NO=209404> in 1912 which includes the treatment of schoolchildren at the Cambridge Borough Dental Institute. There will also be a dental quiz to do during the tour. There will be a chance to see the library and view some of its rare book collection – this dates from the 16th century up to the present.

There are several places still available.
