The MGISS Professional Services team delivers efficiency to clients through the use of innovative technology and effective spatial data management solutions.
To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations, we currently have an opportunity for a Senior GIS Consultant within our Professional Services team in Liverpool. The successful person could potentially become an integral part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects.
You will work alongside members of our Development and Support team with a range of data capture, analysis, visualisation and compliance technologies. In doing so, you will provide critical input for delivering projects on time.
With exposure to an expanding range of market sectors and an extensive knowledge pool, you will deliver dynamic, innovative solutions to I external clients by thinking both logically and creatively.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Technical Lead, using your established skillset in GIS you will provide consultancy with clients (either individually or as part of a team) to understand requirements and then implementing GIS-based solutions to meet those requirements
- Providing expertise, guidance and support to customers in the installation, integrationconfiguration and use of GIS platforms
- As part of theserviceswe provide, develop and implement GIS solutions to various key account customers
- Acting as a trusted technical advisor, helping to demonstrate best practice with GIS technology and growing a customer’s understanding GIS
- Deliver first classing training and technical support where required
Requirements
Essential:
- 5+ years experiencein the GIS Industry
- Masters Degree in GIS or similar discipline
- Experience managing and delivering GIS projects for internal and external clients.
- Expert user of ESRI Desktop Suite including ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS Pro
- Experience of the ESRI Server products including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for GIS and SDE enabled Geodatabases
- Web GIS experience including ArcGIS Online
- Mobile data capture software such as ArcGIS Collector.
- Proven experience and understanding with relational database management systems (RDBMS) including SQL Server and/or Oracle and including scripting in T-SQL
- Proven experience with ETL packages such as FME, FME Server and ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension
- Be well versed in GIS best practice for quality control/checking and ETL
- Advanced data management skills to facilitate Spatial Data infrastructures for complex projects and multi-platform delivery.
- Proven experience integratingGIS with other enterprise systems
- Confident with proven interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Advanced numeracy, analytical and computer skills for data manipulation and management.
- Ability to think both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to apply knowledge into practical schemes.
- A focus on results and project delivery.
- Full clean driving licence. Willingness to travel.
Desirable:
- Experience of GIS application to Utilities and Infrastructuresectors.
- Experience in undertaking user requirements analysis for Enterprise GIS.
- Exposure to other desktop GIS software (e.g. FME, MapInfo, QGIS).
- Exposure to high accuracy survey equipments such as RTK GNSS
- Web GIS Development (ArcGIS API for JavaScript, OpenLayers, Leaflet)
- Programming languages and software development (Javascript, Python, .NET).
- Cloud platforms preferably Microsoft Azure
