GIS Analyst - NHS.  

NHS Band 5 - Bristol based. 

The SCW Geographic Intelligence and Mapping Team are a leading GIS service across the NHS, providing GIS and analytical support to NHS England, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), and other health related organisations across the South of England, and nationally in an increasing number of cases.

We handle a varied and interesting workload of  GIS analysis, development, reporting and ad-hoc investigative analysis, dealing with many aspects of healthcare; primary and secondary care as well as community-based services. We also provide expert advice and support to colleagues throughout our partner organisations, and liaise with many beyond.  Furthermore, the GI & Mapping team have developed a range of web GIS solutions which we deliver to our customers and partners, and continue to develop these further.

We are looking to find a dynamic candidate who is passionate about GIS and would like an opportunity to develop their skills and expertise, to deliver GIS analysis to the NHS.   This would suit either a graduate with a GIS component to their studies, and some experience of using GIS in a work environment, or someone with equivalent level of skills and practical analytical experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone relatively early in their GIS career to work in an experienced and diverse GIS team.  The breadth of GIS that is undertaken within this NHS GIS team will allow the post holder the opportunity to develop their GIS career path, from pure spatial analysis to the building of complex GIS web tools across a range of platforms. 

Candidates should be able to communicate confidently with colleagues and customers at all levels both verbally and in writing. Furthermore they should be self-motivated, but also strong team players, and keen to take on high levels of personal responsibility for the completion of their own, and the team’s duties.
