The original scanner sform is not important for fieldmap correction.  You need the fieldmap and fMRI images aligned in the same image space before you can do distortion correction.  On the other hand, if you wanted to correct for gradient nonlinearities, you would need to know the scanner sform because that tells you where isocenter of the magnet is.

Subject: [FSL] how important is sform and qform to fugue.

I have just learned about sform and qform in nifti headers. My question is how important is sform and qform for fugue. In most of my code this information is lost do to a conversion to Avi's analyses format.
