Hi,
the sub-classification into different types of noise is only for interpretation and doesn’t affect the classification.
All the types of noise will be treated equally as “component to be removed”.
Hope it helps,

We are manually labelling ICA components as signal or noise in order to train FIX to be used on later subjects.
Given that we are only interested in separating signal from noise, what's the difference between classifying noise components as specific types of noise (e.g. motion, sinus, etc.) vs. classifying all noise as "unspecified noise"? Does the use of specific labels improve the classifier performance? or is it only used for our interpretation of the components and does not affect the classifier training?

Thanks!!
