Institute for Protein Innovation (IPI) aims to equip the next generation of scientist-entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge to ensure successful careers as academics, industrial scientists, and entrepreneurs. We are looking for highly motivated, scientifically curious, and intellectually creative candidates to train as Innovation Postdoctoral Fellows, Discovery Postdoctoral Fellows, and Entrepreneurial Fellows.

 

Innovation Postdoctoral Fellows.

Innovation Fellows will work with Platform leaders and affiliated IPI faculty to develop novel technologies, platforms, and approaches in protein science. Examples include improving antibody discovery platforms, engineering novel properties into proteins, developing new methods for identifying receptor-ligand pairs, and creating novel platforms for protein expression or drug discovery. Research must be fully publishable.

 

Discovery Postdoctoral Fellows. Discovery Fellows will work with Platform leaders and affiliated IPI faculty to use IPI platforms for discovery of new biological principles. Examples include discovery of new biological pathways or interactions, antibodies to target proteins for which good reagents are not currently available that enable discovering novel functional properties, partners of target proteins, and potential lead therapeutics. Research must be fully publishable.

 

Entrepreneurial Fellows. Successful Innovation or Discovery Postdoctoral Fellows can transition to Entrepreneurial Fellows. The purpose of these fellowships is to allow technical innovations or discoveries to be developed sufficiently to enable a career in Academia, patents, or company formation.

 

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Engineering or related field
  
• Demonstrated track record of publications and productivity

About the Institute

IPI is a nonprofit research organization whose mission is to foster innovation in protein research, train the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs in protein science, forge new ties between academic and industry investigators, and bridge the missing link between genomics and therapeutics. IPI has built a high-throughput antibody discovery platform for developing open-source antibodies targeting the entire human extracellular proteome. This resource will produce critical tools, lead therapeutics, and technologies that empower academic and industry scientists, catalyze entrepreneurship, and accelerate drug discovery.
