Hi Will,

I have always used this, https://www.photography-backgrounds.co.uk/View-all-products-in-shop.html

Soaks up the light brilliantly. However it can be prone to picking up the dust so if you are shooting very close up to it may need a clean up in post.

Thanks Tina, I really appreciate it! The fabric we have does exactly that and with all the sparkles it comes out mid-grey!

Hi Will, one bit advice is to ensure its 100% cotton velvet as the polyester ones tend to be shiny & sparkle so defeats the object of zero black!

Merry Christmas to you too!

Hello,

Could anyone recommend a ‘tried and tested’ black velvet supplier please?  The only supplier I’ve used before is MacCulloch & Wallis, Soho, but I’m after something a little cheaper, maybe ebay!

It will be for keeping backgrounds as close to zero-black as possible and to stop the need to cut-out the subjects (fossils)?

It was great to see you all at the conference this year – hope you all have a lovely Christmas!

Many thanks,
Will
