ARA South East CPD Training Day The Archives and Records Association South East would like to invite you to a day of talks and discussion on Continued Professional Development to be held at Waddesdon Archives, near Aylesbury, on Monday 26th November. Sessions will be aimed at those at all stages of their career from new professionals to experienced veterans of the profession, and will provide the opportunity to reflect upon your own CPD journey thus far and plan ahead for the coming year(s). This will be an informative, interactive and practical event which will contribute to competency A.8 in the CPD Competency Framework: contributing to/understanding internal/external professional environments. We will be joined by Chris Sheridan (ARA CPD Programme Manager) to introduce ARA’s new CPD scheme; Charlotte Berry (ARA Board member for Professional Development), who will offer practical advice on how to align preparation you may have done towards the now closed Registration Scheme to the new CPD Scheme, and also about her experience of going through the CPD Review programme; and Janice Tullock (Archives & Heritage Consultant) who will discuss how to overcome the perceived barriers of CPD and how to seek opportunities for development both within and beyond the archives and records management sector, among other things. The event will be held at Waddesdon Archives, near Aylesbury, from 10:30 to 4pm and will include the opportunity for a tour of the archive. The archive houses the records of Waddesdon Manor, the Waddesdon Estate, and members of the Rothschild family, who have owned Waddesdon since 1874.
