Hi Annette
Disclosure to you is fine, however the company does not have any right to know what medication people are on. If you disclose this without consent then you have breached their confidentiality.

Subject: Re: [OCC-HEALTH] Fit to work
Good Morning
As a Construction Site Nurse ( 2012 - 2016 ) I performed D&A Testing,
On Induction, Random, and with cause.
On Induction to site all staff were required to complete a Health Questionnaire which included current medications, this revealed at an early stage any potential high risk problems..... including persons who worked in a safety critical
role.
There is a small minority that do not comply..... it was one way of advocating Zero Harm in an Industry that has too many annual fatalities and serious injuries.
The Glasgow bin lorry comes to mind

Query everyone. We have company who supply workers to other companies and we supply a fit to work slip, with or with out restrictions. This other company wants the fit slips to tell them if the person is on medication, what for and dosage. We have never been asked for this before and feel this is private and confidential. If it does not affect their ability to do the job it should not concern anyone else. Under Data Protection as well we cannot reveal this information which backs up our own regulations regarding confidentiality. This other company refuses to employ anyone on medication unless they know what it is and why they are taking it. I have explained to our client who has gone back to their client but unfortunately their client will not budge. Has anyone else ever had this problem because I haven’t in all my time in Occ Health?
Kindest Regards
