The University of Salford and the Chinese Ministry of Education have developed and approved a joint BA (Hons) in Digital Media Art. This is a 3 + 1 programme where levels 3, 4, and 5 of the programme
are delivered at the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts (LAFA) and level 6 is delivered at the University of Salford. In accordance with Chinese Ministry of Education regulations, the University of Salford is also required to deliver one third of the teaching in-country
on levels 4 and 5.
We are now looking to expand our established team on this programme with an individual
who has a strong professional profile and recent experience in digital media art/design production and teaching.
More
specifically, we are looking for someone with a specialism in one or more areas of digital media art production: data visualistion, interface design, web design, contemporary digital arts practices, digital post production, animation or games design & production.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver and contribute to the design of modules on the joint BA (Hons) in Digital Media Art at LAFA and our Digital Media programme area more generally. Periods of up to three months in China will be required
at least twice a year, with the rest of the time allocated to similar duties in Salford and/or time off on statutory annual leave. The work in Salford will be primarily with level 6 students from LAFA and/or the wider Digital Media programme area as needed,
depending on specialised skills and expertise that the successful candidates possesses or may develop over time.
This full-time higher education teaching post is scheduled to start in February 2019 and the successful candidate will become an employee
of the University of Salford on a permanent basis.
