Dear all

How long do you think it is reasonable to hold on to a completed SAR if the person making the request does not come in to collect it!

We have an ex student who submitted a SAR. This was duly completed but the individual specified that he wanted to collect the results in person, he also did not want to communicate via email or phone. We wrote to say the documents were available but to date he has not showed up to collect. What retention period would you assign - 30 days, 60 days, longer? Obviously we don't want this hanging around the office for any longer than necessary.

Thoughts welcome.

Thanks
Graham
