We have several exciting plant-based PhD projects available at Cardiff University through the South West Biosciences Doctoral Training Program. These four-year, fully funded studentships give you the opportunity to undertake two lab rotations and a range of taught courses in your first year before embarking on your own research project. Students are also supported to undertake a three-month placement within a non-research environment in order to develop transferable skills. The department has an active community of researchers covering all areas of plant biology and can provide access to cutting edge technologies to support your work. Projects available include: - Optimising cell size for specialized functions: using a systems approach to understand the cell cycle during differentiation. Dr Angharad Jones - Epigenetic regulation by D-type cyclins, a link between cell division and development in plants? Dr. Walter Dewitte - Epigenetic control of strawberry secondary metabolism – a small fruit with a complex genome. Dr Hilary Rogers - Transcriptional landscaping in plant stem cells: from chromatin to gene regulatory networks. Dr Simon Schofield - Further details of all projects available can be found at: https://www.swbio.ac.uk/programme/projects-available/ - The deadline for applications is 3rd of December ANGHARAD JONES ANGHARAD JONES RESEARCH ASSOCIATE CYDYMAITH YMCHWIL School of Biosciences Ysgol y Biowyddorau Cardiff University Prifysgol Caerdydd Sir Martin Evans Building Sir Martin Evans Building Museum Avenue Museum Avenue Cardiff Caerdydd CF10 3AX CF10 3AX Phone: +44 (0)29 2087 9396 Ffôn : +44 (0)29 2087 9396 [log in to unmask] [log in to unmask] ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the ARABUK list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=ARABUK&A=1
