The Department of Statistical Science at UCL invites applications for a Lecturer in Statistical Science. The post holder will be expected to conduct original research and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Statistical Science. Research may be in any branch(es) of statistical science although applicants with expertise in probability, operational research or finance will be especially welcome.

Candidates should hold or be close to submitting a PhD (or equivalent qualification) in statistics, or a closely related field. It is essential that the successful candidate has a proven record of ability to carry out high quality research in a branch of probability or statistics, the ability to construct and deliver lecture courses on topics relevant to the needs of the Department and excellent communication skills. Salary is Grade 7: 39,353-42,701 GBP per annum or Grade 8: 43,884-51,769 GBP per annum. Appointments at either grade currently qualify for an additional market supplement of 7,000 GBP per annum (to be reviewed every 2 years). For an appointment to be made at the higher salary grade (Grade 8), please refer to the specific criteria given within the person specification. UCL operates a Relocation Scheme for newly appointed academic staff who relocate their home to take up their appointment. This includes a relocation supplement of 10,000 GBP. The department will also provide a start-up fund of 6,000 GBP, available for the duration of the probation period.
