In metabolic labs across the UK (and further afield) cellulose acetate membranes are used for 2D glycosaminoglycan electrophoresis for the investigation of mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) disorders. There is a supply issue of these sheets. Alternatives have been tested and do not meet requirements. Performance was so poor they have now been recalled by the manufacturer.

We were just interested to see if any non-metabolic labs had perhaps a stock of these from assays either in use or historical. We have sourced additional stock here from our immunochemistry colleagues from a redundant assay. Please contact me if you think you have anything suitable. If you could also pass the message to your immunology and haematology colleagues who may not have access to this mailbase we would appreciate it.

I will collate responses and forward to the metabolic labs.

Many thanks

Vicki
