If people get more recent examples that they’re happy to share publicly we’d gladly add them to the DCC website list or make public via the DMPonline platform.

 

I noticed in the DMPonline list that there is actually one public AHRC plan to the new template available from Manchester already. Go Manchester! This could be reused in training, see: https://dmponline.dcc.ac.uk/plans/30473/export.pdf

 

In case you’re not aware, there’s also functionality now in the tool to let users set the visibility of their plans. The default is private, but they can share institutionally or publicly so this could be a useful way to collate libraries of plans locally to support training. I noticed that Manchester have another AHRC DMP shared institutionally so may be willing to ask if this could be made public?

Hi Lauren,

 

I was asked to do the same for Arts and Humanities researchers a few months back and, in the end, I resorted to writing some plans myself. They weren’t perfect but at least offered some sort of examples. I based them on King’s examples of research projects from a successful application bank we have internally. Unfortunately that means I can’t share them, which is a shame. However I would recommend it as a good exercise, I found it quite challenging to do myself, particularly when I was guessing at how some aspects of the project would be resourced, and it has made me a more sympathetic reviewer of plans. I had good feedback from researchers and they really valued having an example they could take away with them. Even if they weren’t perfect, that was helpful in discussing the plans.

Hi all,

 

I’ve been asked to provide some training around writing data management plans for researchers applying to the ESRC or the AHRC. There are lots of examples of DMPs submitted to the ESRC out there but I’m yet to find one submitted to the AHRC in the new format that has been required since March. Does anyone have an example they are willing to share or know of any online that I can use for teaching purposes?
