Hi Jenni, all,
As Kevin rightly points out, UEL has a DMP template geared specifically towards research students.
Unfortunately this has not been well-used, but we've drafted a new RDM policy (hopefully approved soon) that more strongly compels research students to complete a DMP, and introduces a mandate for DMP submission with all ethics applications.
It is the expectation that explicit planning for the archival and preservation of data will lead to deposit in our institutional data repository as a result.
All the best,
Carly

Subject: Re: quick question re doctoral data
Some universities have created specific DMP templates for doctoral students which, whilst not necessarily implying requirements on data deposit, suggest that policy at least takes specific account of postgraduates. One example is that
of Bath:
http://www.bath.ac.uk/research/data/planning/postgraduate-dmp-template/
There's also the University of East London examples, developed as part of the DCC's work with them on developing research data policy and services:
http://www.dcc.ac.uk/tailored-support/institutional-engagements/east-london
https://www.uel.ac.uk/wwwmedia/services/library/lls/Data-Management-Plan-Template-for-PGR-Students.docx
And I see Marta Teperek has already responded with details of TU Delfts policy.
There are many more but hopefully these should be enough to get you started.
Kevin
