SDG2019

This is the First Reminder for the 2019 annual meeting of the Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group (SDG) of the Royal Society of Chemistry. The meeting is open to attendees from all countries and will be held at the University of Nottingham 7-9 January 2019.

Further details are available on the website:

https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~pczsocar/SDG2019/SDG2019.html

and online registration and booking is now available. Please book early as this makes organization much easier! As part of the registration you will be asked whether you wish to offer a presentation and/or poster. If you answer “yes”, then please email me ([log in to unmask]) with the title(s) after successfully booking your place.

Confirmed invited speakers are:

Valerie Blanchet (University of Bordeaux)

Tom Oliver (University of Bristol)

Klaas Wynne (University of Glasgow)

Rachel Crespo-Otero (Queen Mary University of London)

Mike Tarbutt (Imperial College London)

Heather Lewandowski (JILA, Colorado)

Two of these will be “tutorial-style” talks on the first evening. The other days will consist of the other invited talks, and presentations mostly from PhD students and postdocs, and the poster session.

The traditional SDG “pub quiz” will take place after the conference dinner on Tuesday. Previous attendees will not need to be reminded to revise their conversions across all systems of units and to take particular note of the facial features of their co-delegates.

We look forward to seeing you in Nottingham!

Tim Wright
