CILIP Briefing: Skills for the future academic library

This event from CILIP, the library and information association, gives you the chance to hear views on what skills and knowledge are needed in the academic library. An expert line up of speakers will offer real-life examples of how these skills can be developed, and give you links to the right resources. As well as hearing from our speakers, you will have the opportunity to be part of the discussion to help identify the major developments taking place in the sector, and the new skills needed to work with them. The event aims to draw up a roadmap to ensure training and development needs are met both now and in the future.

This event is aimed at:

• Library and information professionals responsible for staff development
• Aspiring leaders and new professionals
• Management looking to prioritise staff development and recruitment

This CILIP briefing has drawn together experts to explore the following issues:

• What key skills, knowledge and mindset do those working in the HE library sector need to develop?

• What differences in need are there across the sector?
• What role do Information Schools and other training organisations need to play?
