Over the last few years the focus on building the academic 'brand' has increased, with many HE Institutions now running sessions for their PhD students and early career researchers on best practice in creating an online profile and presence within their virtual communities. Helping an academic author understand the importance of this type of profile, combined with where their work is being found on the internet, read and cited from, is of major benefit to the publisher.
