Dominic's description sounds like the linking set-up we use - Gale detects if outside IP range and redirects URL to Shibboleth automatically. I'm not able to authenticate to the resource level - a book on GVRL. I tried updating the link to HTTPS protocol to no avail. I have a note from way back which states: Gale detects if outside IP range and redirects URL to Shibboleth automatically. I am prompted to sign in but then get stuck in a loop at the IdP. I will raise a ticket too.
