My colleague and I were just discussing that there is little relevant BTEC info on the JCQ EDI files except the ULN number, so we will assume Pearson will link the students’ registrations and exam entries through this, and the actual unit entry being relevant to just a few BTEC awards.

It’s a bit of a funny one as the registration number is displayed on the attendance register.

 

We’re probably overcautious with this as we had a situation a few years ago where we had some duplicate registration numbers.

As the base data is JCQ format, do the exam entry files include the BTEC registration number?  I didn’t think they’d be a field for that.

I’d wait for the ERN file to come back, import to your record system and then create the January entry file. 

 

It can get messy if you have the wrong BTEC reg numbers associated with the January entries.

Thanks Karen.  We’re just not sure of how much to delay the second – exam entry – file.  I’ve replied to somebody else, stating I’’ send the second file on Friday regardless, but send the registrations today.

Yes you must register your students first and then make you entries or they will reject the file.

Hi all,

 

I am about to make our BTEC level 2 registrations via EDI for the first time, but I am wondering if you can send the January exam entry files straight afterwards, or do you have to wait for the registrations to be confirmed first?
