Hi,



We use unit-e and I have never received (to my knowledge) a file for importing BTEC registration numbers, despite making the registrations via EDI for the past 8+ years.



Once we have registered the students, and they appear on edexcelonline, we do a simple copy and paste into an excel worksheet and upload this onto our intranet.  It takes no time at all as you can copy/paste each course.



It is then the tutors/teacher's/Careers responsibility to confirm BTEC numbers to students and not ours 😊

Hi Joanne,



I think that’s because they are moving over to the ‘new’ A2C system – on UNIT-E it’s part of ‘Exams2’ and uses the catalogue and automatic send/ receive systems, but we’ve not been told how this works in practice yet.  With our change in structure here (and lack of dedicated UNIT-E support) I doubt we will get to use it next year either!

I’ve just been informed that only EDIFACT base data/ EDI files generate confirmation files, whereas we used JCQ format for our first attempt.  Maybe next year….

Hi Jane



If you go to Tools in the Exams Manager and then EDEXCEL, drop down to import and you should be able to browse for your file(s) When you have found the file you can enter series/year and ok. This should then import your numbers



If you have more than one file and they are numbered 001,002 etc then you will have to rename them by removing the number after the . otherwise the system will not recognise them. So start with the unnumbered file and once you have imported the reg numbers you can rename it as something else if you want to keep it. Then do each of the other files in order.

I’m using unit-e. I have the ERN files but not sure how to import them. I would really like the BTEC registrations to appear in our system so that the students can view them for their UCAS applications – rather than me having to look them up individually.



Does anyone have any instructions for this?

They should come through A2C, if you go into your inbox and press send/receive files the file should be there for you to import.

Good morning all,



We’ve successfully registered our BTEC learners via EDI for the first time, but I’m aware from previous posts that we should receive an EDI file with the BTEC registration numbers so these can be imported into our MIS.  We haven’t received any yet despite the registrations being confirmed on Edexcel on-line last Wednesday.



Should these files come automatically through EDI, and how long after the registrations are confirmed?  And can you confirm the email address they would come through on if they are sent via email?  Our email filters tend to stop anything important….
