Monash School of Public Health & Preventive Medicine (SPHPM) is a teaching and research unit of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University and is centred at the Alfred Hospital.

  • Senior Research Officer- Diabetes Living Evidence
  • 12 month position 
  • Full or part-time (0.8EFT) appointment
  • Based at Cochrane Australia, working with Monash SPHPM Diabetes and Vascular Medicine Research Program, and the Australian Diabetes Society

The role

The Senior Research Officer will support an innovative new living evidence collaboration between Cochrane Australia, the SPHPM Diabetes and Vascular Medicine Research Program, and the Australian Diabetes Society. This collaboration is developing living systematic reviews and living guideline recommendations in diabetes. 

The Senior Research Officer will perform a range of significant and complex research activities that play a critical role in the design, conduct and maintenance of living systematic reviews, and in the guideline processes that lead to development of living recommendations.

The Senior Research Officer is an expert in systematic reviews and evidence-based guidelines, provides specialist advice to stakeholders and colleagues, and will contribute to developing new methods for evidence synthesis in this exciting new field.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in undertaking systematic reviews and supporting evidence-based guideline development, including familiarity with tools to support these processes, e.g. GRADE, systematic review authoring tools, guideline development tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to effectively analyse information and produce clear, succinct reports
  • Well-developed high level, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadline
