Subject: Service user involvement in service reform/governance

Hello all,

I hope this email finds you you all well!

I have recently been searching the literature for any studies which demonstrate the practical outcomes of having people with disabilities actively involved in driving service /system reform and in the governance of such programmes.

As expected, I have found literature which supports the human rights based argument for inclusion/participation, literature which contains academic arguments and theoretical models, and a wealth of information about support strategies which can be employed to enable meaningful participation. However, I could not source any studies which evaluated the impact of having people with lived experience included in such reform/governance structures.

I'd be most appreciative if I could be signposted towards any useful references.

Many thanks,

Catherine
