Hi Mia, the exact same error is also appearing when I do 2D classification with newly extracted particles. The job stops during noise spectra estimation. I used relion_image_handler --stats --i particles.star to check the particles, but I assume they are all okay since I did not get any error and the values are quite similar for each particle. Also disc I/O should be fine in our case. I also tried reautopicking and reextraction of the particles and still get the error. Have you already tried with the latest version and got to some success?
