The Dutch Digital Heritage Network (DHN) and the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) are organizing the international conference ‘Memory Makers: Digital Preservation Skills and How to Get Them’ in Amsterdam on 29th - 30th November and the full program has just been revealed.

Hosted by the Amsterdam Museum and, with many speakers of the international digital preservation community on the agenda, the event will form part of the World Digital Preservation Day celebrations.

Following an opening session from Judikje Kiers, Executive Director of Amsterdam Museum; Marens Engelhard, Executive Director of the Dutch National Archives and Head of the Dutch Digital Heritage Network Board; and William Kilbride, Executive Director of the DPC, conference attendees will hear from speakers on important digital preservation themes of 'Teaching,' 'Training' and 'Collaborative Learning' over two days.

Following the culmination of the Digital Preservation Awards 2018, the presentation ceremony for which will take place on the evening of 29th November, the conference will also hear from finalists in the Teaching and Communications Awards category on the second day, in a celebration of Good Practice.

The conference is free and open to all although places are strictly limited and should be booked in advance. Registration will close two weeks before the event and early booking is recommended as we expect the day to be popular.

Please note: Attendance at the Digital Preservation Awards ceremony is by invitation only, and participating in the conference does not guarantee attendance at this evening event. However, attendees of the ‘Memory Makers’ Conference are invited to share in the experience by watching the broadcast of the ceremony which will be live streamed on the night.
