Hello, *Apologies for cross-posting* I am very excited to be getting in touch to let you know that on Friday 26 October, Professor Gus John will speak at the University of Warwick on what Black History Month should mean today. Professor John is a renowned activist and academic who has been working in education, youth work and social justice since the 1960s. In 2016, he was chosen as one of the 30 Most Influential Contemporary African Diaspora Leaders globally (you can read more about Gus John here<https://warwick.ac.uk/services/equalops/race/bhm18/profgusjohn/#GusJohn>). Last year was the 30th anniversary of Black History Month in the UK, and we're now in a time of, on the one hand, growing movements on decolonising curricula, mobilising the global African diaspora, and reparatory justice, and on the other hand, the resurgence of fascism in Europe. This talk will explore this subject and the implications for the Higher Education sector and Black History Month more broadly. The event details are...
