Dear all

We would still like a couple more members of the community to join our working group to ensure that the Jisc RDM toolkit (https://rdmtoolkit.jisc.ac.uk/) stays up to date and relevant for researchers, research managers or in fact anyone needing advice on managing their research data.

As a reminder, we have tried to make the toolkit very easy to use. From the home page<https://rdmtoolkit.jisc.ac.uk/>, icons corresponding to three main audiences lead to different ways to access content:

* Researchers<https://rdmtoolkit.jisc.ac.uk/rdm-for-researchers/>: by following this pathway, you will reach a page of RDM hot topics. Presented in an intuitive format, they allow immediate access to the information on the topic on a toolkit page.

* Research support<https://rdmtoolkit.jisc.ac.uk/rdm-for-research-support-staff/>: built for RDM experts such as research managers, librarians, archivists, etc., this pathway will lead you to resources on RDM in an institutional context.

* IT specialists<https://rdmtoolkit.jisc.ac.uk/rdm-for-it-specialists/>: we recognise that IT specialists play a role in RDM but are only involved in some activities, this page links to the resources that should be most relevant to them.

There is also a fourth option to navigate the website, which everyone can use: you can browse material by choosing the research data lifecycle page<https://rdmtoolkit.jisc.ac.uk/research-data-lifecycle/>. From here you can reach toolkit pages arranged by lifecycle step, based on the Jisc research data lifecycle<https://www.jisc.ac.uk/guides/research-data-management>.

Research Consulting Ltd have been appointed to carry out updates. However, we are very keen to enlist the support of an expert RDM toolkit working group.

The group will periodically review recommended changes and possible new resources to add to the toolkit. We expect the group to meet on a quarterly basis from Oct 2018, mostly online, but once a year, in London, for an in-person meeting (expenses paid!). At the end of the first year, engagement with the toolkit will be reviewed to ensure it is still fit for purpose and satisfies the needs of the RDM community.

If you think you are a good candidate for the working group, please get in touch<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and we will be happy to consider your involvement. There is a terms of reference for the group; should you wish to view that, again please get in touch.

Best wishes
Caroline
