Good morning all

This is aimed at anyone applying for research funding so at first glance
perhaps not /obviously/ psci-com-ish but I've spoken to Jane and the
series includes widely applicable advice about writing clear
applications. When I worked at Diabetes UK the research we funded was
considered by a panel of people including scientists and healthcare
professionals but also people with the condition - we certainly
encouraged our applicants to make their applications understandable to
more than just researchers in the field.

*Subject : New Podcast series from EPSRC - for academics applying for
funding for the first time. *

Dear PSCI-Commers,

For anyone applying for funding for the first time to the Engineering
and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), a new series of podcasts
has just been launched that will hopefully be of interest.

They cover different aspects of the Peer Review process. Here are the
links to the first two podcasts that I have produced on behalf of EPSRC:

1.‘EPSRC Funding Options’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBTDMOWxBPg

2.‘Writing Strong Applications’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj8JEA-zb8A

The podcasts examine commonly asked questions surrounding the
application process, including some of the myths and misconceptions.
The third podcast on the ‘/Right to Reply’/ procedure is currently being
edited and will be available soon.

Best wishes

Jane
